2018 Farm Bill PASSED

On Monday, Congress passed the 2018 Farm Bill after months of back-and-forth, and on Thursday it was signed into law. This is key for everyone: It removes industrial hemp from the illegal schedule I drugs list, and gives it the same classification as any other commercial crop! Plus, there are no restrictions around possessing, selling, or transporting industrial hemp across state lines (or any products made from it) as long as it’s cultivated in line with the law. So shipping your hemp products across state lines to friends or family is legal! YIPEE!

It is important to note that CBD products produced from industrial hemp are what are no longer considered Schedule I substances, but CBD products that come from marijuana plants with more than .03 percent THC are still federally illegal.

Luckily at Megan’s our products are hemp derived and lab tested at less than .03 percent! The Farm Bill is a big and important step for us and for our customers, but there’s certainly more to come!
